Specialists from the Philosophy Institute of Cuba (IFC) will present, during the center’s 4th Workshop, the results of their research work on Socialism, the 21st Century and the Cuban Revolution.
One of the main topics of the meeting, which will open its doors on Wednesday and will run until Friday, is the experience of the Cuban social project in spite of the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States against the island, according to information provided by Mylene Montero, from the center’s Department for Promotion and International Cooperation.
Montero added that the remaining topics are linked to the new historic conditions and the focal points of contemporary debate on the issue.
Participating in the analyses will be specialists from research centers in the field of social sciences, higher education professors and students, and representatives from the island’s political, state and cultural organizations and institutions.
Also expected is the attendance of foreigners who maintain relations of exchanges and cooperation with that entity and who participate systematically in Cuban socioeconomic studies.
The meeting is co-sponsored by the Raul Roa Garcia Higher Institute for International Relations, where the debates will take place, the Council of Social Sciences and the Scientific Area of Social Sciences and Humanities from the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment.
The IFC is the only center of its kind in the country, which carries out studies linking immediate reality with practice, without abandoning the philosophic and critical perspective.
Its research works are of epistemological, axiological, political, historic, social and
aesthetic nature, and contribute to the development of knowledge in the areas of Cuban and Latin American thinking, the Marxist theory, the Cuban society of today, and the analytical assimilation of contemporary currents.
