Cuban President Raul Castro held talks with Vietnam´s National Assembly President Nguyen Phu Trong on international issues and bilateral relations.
During the meeting, both leaders analyzed the excellent relations of friendship, collaboration and solidarity existing between the Cuban and Vietnamese parties, governments and people, the island's TV news reported.
Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez and a representation of the Chinese delegation attended the meeting.
Phu Trong previously met with Alarcon, to whom he delivered a donation of 2,000 tons of rice.
Alarcon recalled the 50th anniversary of the beginning of bilateral relations, while Vietnam was carrying out a tough and difficult struggle against the US intervention.
The Vietnamese legislator stressed the solidarity and brotherhood existing between Cuba and Vietnam, saying that the Cuban people, led by the Communist Party, will achieve more successes and make progresses in the construction of socialism.
