Reps from 73 Countries to Celebrate Intl Workers Day in Cuba
More than 2,000 union leaders, social and solidarity activists from 73 countries will participate on Wednesday, May 1, in celebrations for International Workers'' Day in Cuba, organizers, reports local press today.

More than 2,000 union leaders, social and solidarity activists from 73 countries will participate on Wednesday, May 1, in celebrations for International Workers'' Day in Cuba, organizers, reports local press today.
According to a member of the National Secretariat of the Cuban Workers' Union (CTC) Raymundo Navarro, about 265 organizations from various continents will be represented at these celebrations.
This foreign presence on May 1 has become traditional over the decades, Navarro told the Granma newspaper.
Havana's Jose Marti Revolution Square will be the main headquarters for the celebrations, characterized by parades in all Cuban provinces, which this year will pay tribute to recently deceased President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez.
The participation of dozens of political leaders from 20 parties summoned to a meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum's Working Group, scheduled for today and tomorrow at the Havana's Conference Center, is also anticipated.
May Day celebrations began several days ago on the island, with cultural activities, exhibitions, and recognition of outstanding members of the CTC, an organization that will hold its 20th Congress late this year.
