Zambian President Meets with Cuban Visiting Delegation
The President of Zambia, Rupiah Banda, met on Monday with a visiting delegation of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) headed by Rodolfo Puente Ferro, who presides over the Africa-Cuba Friendship Association and who is also the coordinator of the Sub- Saharan Africa Section of the Foreign Relations Department at the Central Committee of the PCC.

According to Granma news daily, during the meeting, the Zambian head of state and government sent warm greetings to the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro and to his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.
Rupiah Banda recalled that during his youth he participated in many activities in solidarity with Cuba and against the US economic, financial and trade blockade of the Caribbean nation.
He acknowledged the achievements of the Cuban Revolution over the past 50 years and praised the strength and resistance of the Cuban people, from whom, he said, “we have a lot to learn”.
During their stay in Zambia until Wednesday, the Cuban PCC delegation will meet with the Cuban-Zambian Friendship Parliamentary Group.
