Vietnam will be represented by 85 outstanding young people at the 18th World Festival of Youth and Students, to be held Dec. 7-13 in Quito, Ecuador, the national media report today.

Participants in the festival expect to hold a forum there on the participation of young people in the process of renovation, reconstruction, and defense of their homeland, and will present a photo exhibition about the life of the Vietnamese people.

They will also attend lectures and seminars related to the role of youth in reducing poverty, protecting children's rights and gender equality, and other cultural and sport activities, it was reported.

The selected delegates to the event aim to disseminate images of the nation, especially on the history of the 82nd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Young Communist League.
