The President of the Republic of Mali, Amadou Toumani Toure, described as very positive the exchange held with his Cuban counterpart, President Raul Castro.
After placing a wreath on the Mausoleum to the Fallen in Defense of the Country, the head of state said that this visit to Cuba gives an extraordinary meaning to the bonds existing between the two nations and to relations with Revolution leader Fidel Castro and President Raul Castro.
Toumani Toure highlighted the work of Cuban voluntary workers in his country, where almost 200 professionals from the island are sharing their experiences in sectors like education and sports, at the same time that they carry out a Comprehensive Health System.
Accompanying the President of Mali for the tribute to the Cuban combatants were Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Marcos Rodriguez, Brigadier General Delsa Esther Puebla, and the president of the Cuba-Africa Friendship Association, Rodolfo Puente Ferro.
Also present were the delegation accompanying the visiting head of state and representatives from the African diplomatic corps accredited to Havana.
