Cuban University Students Demand Justice for the Five

Cuba''s Federation of University Students (FEU) will carry out a comprehensive program of activities to champion the cause of the five antiterrorists unjustly held in U.S. prisons since 1998, local media reported on Sunday.
According to organizers, the program is a new action of solidarity and aims to demand justice for Fernando González, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, René González and Gerardo Hernández, coinciding with the 47th birthday of the latter on Monday.
Xavier Arrue, a member of the FEU National Secretariat, told Juventud Rebelde newspaper that the main venues will be the Latin American Medical School (ELAM) and the Jose Antonio Echeverria Higher Polytechnical Institute (CUJAE).
Special meetings, lectures, exhibitions of posters and photos related to the cause of The Five, as they are known internationally, sports competitions and cultural activities are among the actions that Cuban university students will carry out.
The activities at the ELAM will begin with the exhibition "The World for the Five", where young students from different countries will show their projects and the ways they have publicized the cases of the Five in and outside Cuba, Arrue noted.
CUJAE student Julian Gutierrez, coordinator of the University Network in Solidarity with the Five, pointed out that starting on June 4, the email address 5xlos5@tesla.cujae.edu.cu will be a go-between again for all these activities.
