Venezuelan art will be a highlight in Casa de las Americas, the venue for activities that the South American country have been carrying out in the past few days as part of its Cultural Week.
Lectures, exhibits and book sales are among proposals in the program of this Cuban institution, founded with the triumph of the Revolution in 1959 to spread the artistic and literary work of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Through Friday, the fine arts loving public will be able to appreciate pieces of the collection Art of Our America Haydee Santamaria by renowned Venezuelan artists including Alirio Palacios, Francisco Bellorin, Regulo Perez and Luisa Palacios, among others, which were donated by these authors in the 60s and the 80s.
Venezuelan books published since 2003 by the Casa Editorial Fund fill the shelves of the library at Casa this week to facilitate the readers access to this type of literature.
The Venezuelan Culturas Week in Cuba, running through Sunday, Nov. 18 is also being held in Venezuela municipality, in Ciego de Avila (central Cuba) and the inhabited area of Sierra Maestra, in Granma province (eastern).
This Cultural Week started at the House-Museum Simon Bolivar, in Old Havana, and Cuban institutions and figures that have contributed to the development and diffusion of Venezuela culture will be paid tribute for it.
