About 30 titles for children and youth, destined to bring them closer to the history of their country and the world, are the main offerings from the Abril publishing house at the upcoming International Book Fair here.

The literary event, one of the most anticipated cultural events on the island, will open on February 14 at the Morro-Cabaña Park, across the Bay of Havana.

One of the new titles will be the trilogy inspired by biographies of some Cuban fighters, among them Juan Bruno Zayas (1867-1896), General of the Liberation Army in the second half of the 19th century.

Also on the list is the sale of the tenth edition of "Patriotas cubanos" (Cuban patriots), a collection dedicated to the life and work of illustrious figures of Cuba's independence war, Irenia Gonzalez, expert on promotion and public relations for the publishing house, told Prensa Latina.

A monographic series with curiosities about history, geography, ethnicity, culture, myths and legends of Angola, compiled by the group of authors associated with Zunzun magazine, will be dedicated to this African country, guest of honor at this fair.

Dedicated to Cuban-Uruguayan writers Daniel Chavarria and historian Pedro Pablo Rodriguez, the 22nd edition of the International Book Fair in Havana will run until February 24. It will extend to the rest of provinces and conclude in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.
