Heads of state of the African Union (AU) unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by successive U.S. administrations against Cuba in the last 50 years.
The document was released at the 19th ordinary summit of the body, which ended Monday in this capital with representatives from the 54 countries of the African Union.
The resolution reiterated the AU's call to the U.S. government to immediately lift the unwarranted economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba opposed by the international community.
For the twentieth consecutive time Havana presented last year that document within the UN and was supported by 186 nations and only two, the U.S. and its ally Israel, voted against it.
The text of the AU recalled the decisions taken by Heads of State in similar events held in Kampala, Uganda, July 27, 2010, and in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, July 1, 2011.
