Cuban President Attends Award Ceremony of Cuban Figures
Cuban president Raúl Castro Ruz attended the Maestro de Juventudes award ceremony, where eight relevant figures of the Cuban Culture were acknowledged at the National Museum of Fine Arts.

Cuban president Raúl Castro Ruz attended the Maestro de Juventudes award ceremony, where eight relevant figures of the Cuban Culture were acknowledged at the National Museum of Fine Arts.
The ceremony was included in the agenda of the Second Congress of the Hermanos Saíz (AHS) association, reports today the journal Granma.
The important award was granted to writer Nancy Morejón; musicians Digna Guerra and Wilfredo (Pachy) Naranjo; painters Nelson Dominguez and Lesbia Vent Dumois; filmmaker Tulio Raggi; architect Mario Coyula; and theater director Carlos Díaz.
Luis Morlote Rivas, president of the AHS, highlighted the social value of their work, the significance of their contribution to the Cuban culture and their remarkable relation with the younger generations of artists.
On behalf of the awarded, writer Nancy Morejón, said their works have transmitted techniques and knowledge to contribute to the development of many creators throughout history, specially from the new generations.
Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Esteban Lazo, President of the Cuban Parliament, and Rafael Bernal, Minister of Culture, among other authorities also attended the ceremony.
