Guantanamo Prison Undermines National Security, States Obama

US President Barack Obama stated today that the detention facility in Guantanamo undermines US national security, drains military resources and is used against the United States.
 
In his message, Obama said that the detention center was actually counterproductive to the fight against terrorism.
 
Keeping this facility open is contrary to our values and undermines the standing of the US in the eyes of other countries, added Obama, who delivered a closure plan of Guantanamo prison to Congress.
 
He pointed out that his Republican rival John McCain also has the intention to close Guantanamo prison, which costs too much and only houses 91 prisoners.
