Solidarity with the Cuban Five in the Czech Republic
HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 1 (acn) A solidarity campaign with the Five Cuban anti-terrorism fighters unjustly incarcerated in the United States, was convened in the Czech Republic, during a demonstration in support of peace and solidarity among the people.

HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 1 (acn) A solidarity campaign with the Five Cuban anti-terrorism fighters unjustly incarcerated in the United States, was convened in the Czech Republic, during a demonstration in support of peace and solidarity among the people.
More than 300 people participated in the activity, promoted by patriotic organizations, local representatives of the Friendship with Cuba Association and the Committees of the Communist Party in Bohemia and Moravia, in the district of Trutnov.
The chargé d’affaires of the Cuban embassy in that nation, Barbara Montalvo, denounced the violations committed in the biased trial of Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, René Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez.
She also explained the infringement of the human rights of Olga Salanueva and Adriana Pérez, the wives of René and Gerardo, respectively, whose visas to visit their husbands have been denied by the US government for 10 years.
Communist parliamentarian Vaclav Exner reiterated solidarity with Cuba and with the cause of the Cuban Five.
A message addressed to the US embassy in the Czech Republic was read out during the activity, in which the US government is accused of the injustices committed against the Five. The text was approved by the participants in this activity.
Likewise, a demonstration in front of the US embassy in Prague was convened for September 12, which will officially inaugurate the campaign of solidarity with the Cuban Five in that country, reported the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s Web site.
