The Mexican media highlighted on Thursday the presentation, in this capital, of the book La paz en Colombia (Peace inColombia) by Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.

According to a report by the Prensa Latina news agency, La Jornada newspaper underlined Fidel's admiration -expressed in the volume- towards the strength of the head of Colombia's Revolutionary Armed Forced (FARC), Manuel Marulanda Vélez, to struggle for his principles to the last drop of his blood.

Likewise, he stressed the Cuban leader's rejection of kidnapping as a method in his military actions and war strategy.

In this regard, he cited statements by the head of the Department for the mericas of the Cuban Communist Party's Central Committee, José Arbesú, ho participated in the presentation of the text, with respect to that
most important aspect, in that it tackles an issue that had been hidden: the role of Cuba in favor of peace in Colombia.

La Jornada emphasized Cuba's support for the attempts to negotiate peace in the South American country, as well as the fluid political dialogue between the two nations since the re-establishment of diplomatic
relations in 1991.

Meanwhile TELEVISA channel, in its Primera de Noticias program, underlined the interest shown toward the book's theme, and announced the vailability of the text on the www.cubadebate.cu
