The 30th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2012) was the main dish in Cuban weekly news, which brought together more than 3.000 exhibitors from 67 countries to explore the market and do business with the island.
During his speech in the award and closing ceremony, the Vice President of the Cuban Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, stated that this was the largest meeting of the last decade.
In FIHAV 2012 was a space for business meetings between Cuba and Venezuela, Russia, Vietnam, Brazil, Ecuador, Canada, Mexico, South Africa and Namibia, and member nations of the Caribbean Community and the European Union, he informed.
This week, Cuban President Raul Castro met with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, with whom he discussed bilateral economic relations and the results of the recently held Intergovernmental Commission.
During the meeting, the Cuban dignitary expressed his appreciation for the immediate support received from Moscow to alleviate the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy in the east.
As part of the recovery process, the Government decided to pay with its budged the 50% of the current prices of building materials that will be sold to families affected.
This means that families with total or partial destruction of their homes will pay only half the price of these items.
