U.S. documentary filmmaker Saul Landau called for an effort to enter the consciousness of U.S. Americans, since the media have no interest in the case of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in the United States.
Landau is one of the most prominent American activists for the release of Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez, known worldwide as The Five and who are serving long and unjust sentences in U.S. prisons.
"We see little interest at the White House and the State Department in discussing the case of the Five," Landau said, referring to the legal situation of the five antiterrorist fighters imprisoned after monitoring Cuban terrorist groups based in Miami.
The statements of the also writer, journalist, documentary filmmaker and American academic were made during a recent meeting between Cuban artists and intellectuals with the relatives of the five Cubans imprisoned in the United States.
