The Belgian Christians for Socialism Movement reiterated its demand for the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorists unjustly sentenced to long prison terms in the United States.
At an annual meeting of the organization' Solidarity with Cuba Group, Isabelle Van Brabant denounced the irregularities against the Five, as they are known internationally, who were sentenced to penalties from 15 years to double life imprisonment plus 15 years, in rigged trial in Miami .
Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino , Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and René González were arrested on September 12th , 1998 when they were monitoring the anti-Cuban groups in the territory.
René González is the only one who is back in Cuba after 13 years in prison, a period of supervised release and renouncing US citizenship.
Several participants at the event wore on his lapel a yellow ribbon as a symbol of commitment to the immediate return to his homeland of Gerardo, Ramón, Fernando and Antonio.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Cuba in Belgium, Mirtha Hormilla, a press release of the diplomatic delegation says.
