The Cuban Vice President Ramiro Valdes Menendez urged for increasing efficiency in water use.
'It is necessary to increase the culture in the use and exploitation of water', said during the balance of the results of the work done by the National Institute of Water Resources (INRH) in 2015.
The president of the INRH, Ines Chapman Waugh, the first vice president, Abel Salas, and other officials also participated in the meeting, in which was reviewed the implementation of the strategy in the sector since 2012, when the National Water Policy was approved.
The role of leaders, as well as the need to establish an appropriate policy for their selection and preparation, was a widely discussed topic during the meeting.
Valdes Menendez also emphasized the importance of integral work among the different agencies related to hydraulic sphere and in this sense, stressed the importance of national and local industry for producing the necessary means to make repairs and end the leaks.
According to the report presented at the meeting, the main problems the industry are focused on the quality of the services related to drinking water and sanitation, and the protection as well as the rational and productive use of resources.
