On occasion of New Year 2012, the five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters unfairly held in US prisons appreciated world solidarity and wished a happy new year to the international community.
Juventud Rebelde newspaper publishes today messages from Rene Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, known as The Cuban Five, who were sentenced in a biased trial after infiltrating Miami-based terrorist anti-Cuban groups.
In their messages, they appreciated the efforts made for their release in the past year.
"You are our greatest virtue, our strength and the main reason for our optimism that one day the great miracle of liberty will be made and we will be able to celebrate together the happiness of victory," said Labanino.
Guerrero reiterated the dangers his comrade Rene is at in the United States, where he was forced to remain under supervised release after having served his sentence.
Gerardo sent his message through a caricature highlighting the 53th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the Islanda's resistance against over half a century of US aggressions to make it yield.
Juventud Rebelde also publishes today a message from the International Free The Five Committee expressing the decision to continue their struggle.
"New projects await for us, for which we will need the help and support from all," says the organization in its message.
