Cuban and Costa Rican Foreign Ministers Bruno Rodriguez and Enrique Castillo respectively, expressed their government´s will to boost their links in several sector of the socio-economic development.

Castillo, who is in a three-day official visit to Cuba since Wednesday, was welcomed by Rodriguez at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry with the objective of strengthening the diplomatic relation reestablished in 2009.
According to the Cuban minister, this official visit will promote the bilateral bonds and will allow them to search for new areas for the cultural, economic, scientific and sport exchange.

Rodriguez also thanked the traditional posture of San Jose in favor of freedom of trade and navigation, considering the obstacles the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States represents in that sense.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister of Costa Rica framed his visit in the process undertaken in 2009, when diplomatic ties were restored.
We have had a series of meetings in Havana and San Jose, which lead to the signing of agreements and understandings in health, sport and culture, he said.
According to Castillo, his stay will bring further the cooperation and rapprochement achieved.
Both officials stressed the historic relations between the two countries, expressed in connection with the struggle for independence and the presence of Cubans in Costa Rica.
