With a National Mourning and a 21-gun salute, the tribute to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who died on March 5 in Caracas, continues today in Cuba.

The 21-gun salute were shcedule to be fired at 10:00 local time at the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress in Havana, the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces reported.

The country also declared National Mourning for today, for that reason, all public shows and festive activities are suspended in the country.

Both provisions are part of the tribute the island's people and government pay to the Venezuelan president.

Yesterday, thousands of people paraded in all Cuban provinces to honor the president, to whom they love as a brother.

After hearing the news of his death on March 5, the island's authorities also decreed official mourning from March 6 to 12:00 pm on March 7
