Cubans serving a medical aid mission in Venezuela continue to care for every citizen of the country that needs their assistance, says Cuba's Deputy Health Minister Roberto Gonzalez.

The Cuban physicians continue to perform their duty to care for each Venezuelan citizen that requires their services, regardless of political affiliation, social status or any other consideration, said Gonzalez, in remarks published by the Granma newspaper.

Gonzalez reported that despite the aggressive demonstrations by the Venezuelan opposition at certain health facilities in Venezuela, as of yesterday no doctor had yet been reported injured.

He added that the doctors enjoy ample protection from the people they are serving in Venezuela; a sign of respect they have earned by working in poverty-stricken neighborhoods.
