FARC-EP Pleased with Guerrilla Summit
The delegation of the FARC-EP to the roundtable discussions said in this capital to be pleased with the summit with the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the interest of that group to join to the peace process in Colombia.

The delegation of the FARC-EP to the roundtable discussions said in this capital to be pleased with the summit with the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the interest of that group to join to the peace process in Colombia.

Pablo Catatumbo, delegate to the talks by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP), said the guerrilla "shares the joy of all revolutionaries" with the statement made together with the ELN.

Top leaders Timoleon Jimenez, of the FARC-EP, and Nicolas Rodriguez, of the ELN, announced yesterday in a joint statement the holding of the meeting "in any place of the Colombian mountains."

According to the document, both organizations agreed on the importance of "working for the unity of all political and social forces engaged in conducting profound changes in the society, economy, politics and the Colombian institutions."

Similarly, they stressed the importance of peace with dignity and social justice for the nation and the continent, as well as the express recognition that any solution to the internal conflict passes through the "inevitable necessity" to start talks with all Colombian insurgency.
