Cuba and Iran on Wednesday vowed to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas, during a meeting between Iranian lawmaker, Ezzatollah Yousefian Molla, and Cuba's Charge d'Affaires in Tehran, David Paulovich Escalona, Fars news agency reported.
During the meeting, the Iranian and Cuban officials hailed the strong bilateral relations between both countries and stressed the need to deepen these cooperation in all fields.
Yousefian Molla also called for the continuation of parliamentary friendship groups and similar mechanisms that help promote this final goal.
Paulovich Escalona, for his part, expressed satisfaction with positive trend of relations, and urged to increase bilateral contacts.
Iran's developing relations with Cuba follow the Persian state's recent efforts to expand ties and cooperation with Latin American nations.
In line with the same policy, former Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had several official trips to major Latin American countries, including Brazil, Cuba, Bolivia and Venezuela.
