A Central American conference in solidarity with Cuba will take place in Panama from September 26-28 to condemn Washington’s blockade against the island.

Attending the event, slated for the city of Santiago de Veragüas, will be delegations from Central America and one from the Solidarity-with-Cuba Committee in Puerto Rico. The meeting will be dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

The meeting will also be an excellent opportunity to coordinate campaigns for getting humanitarian aid to the Cuban people, who have suffered greatly from the passage of two devastating hurricanes.

Participants in the conference will focus on strengthening the work of Cuba solidarity movements on issues such as the struggle against theeconomic, commercial, and financial blockade by the US government against the small Caribbean archipelago. Attendees will also center their attention on the positive impact of Cuban solidarity with the peoples of Central America.

In addition, they will pay special attention to the strengthening of the international campaign in support of the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorism fighters imprisoned in the United States – Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, René González and Antonio Guerrero
