Europeans Demand End of US Blockade of Cuba

trade and financial blockade of Cuba.

The Vice President of the Russian Parliament, Ivan Melnikov, demanded on Monday the immediate end of the almost-fifty-year-old US economic, trade and financial blockade of Cuba.
Speaking before the Parliamentarian Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France, on behalf of the Group of the European United Left, Melnikov also demanded the abolition of the extraterritorial Helms-Burton Law and criticized Washington’s hostile policy towards Cuba.
“The blockade is an aggression not only against Cuba but also against third countries,” said Melnikov, who is also the vice president of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
According to Prensa Latina news agency, Melnikov asked the Bureau of the Parliamentarian Assembly to demand the elimination of anti-Cuban and discriminatory regulations such as the Torricelli Law as well.
