Representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Communist Party of China (CPCh) praised here the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, and highlighted the level reached so far between the two governments.
During a meeting held in this capital with staff from the Chinese government and representatives of the Cuban embassy in China, Santiago Perez, director of Agricultural Food department at the PCC's Central Committee, recalled the popular and democratic character of the moment in which the two States decided establish ties.
In that sense, he recalled the time when more than one million Cubans, gathered at the Revolution Square in Havana, with a thunderous ovation endorsed the decision to establish diplomatic relations with hina.
Perez emphasized the close friendship and fraternal feelings that have joined the two countries for more than one and a half century, when the blood of the Cuban and Chinese combatants, all united by the ideal of freedom and justice, mixed in the battlefields for the independence of Cuba.
It found that 55 years after its establishment, bilateral relations are at an excellent time, having reached maturity, surpassed the tests of the time and achieved a strategic dimension.
For the senior official of the Caribbean island, the recent visits of Cuban First Vice President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Army Corps General, Alvaro Lopez Miera, as well as the participation of a detachment of ceremonies from Cuba in the parade on occasion of the Victory Day against the Japanese aggression here, were further examples of the fluid bilateral high-level exchanges.
This allowed us to express Cuba's recognition to the significant contribution of China to the victory in the struggle against fascism and militarism, and in safeguarding world peace at the end of World War II, he explained.
Referring to the interests they share, they said that the two countries are moving forward together in the way of the construction of socialism with respective complementary models whose objectives are similar: to ensure sustainable development and the irreversibility of socialism in both countries.
Perez recalled that in 2016 and 2017, the PCC and the CPCh will hold their 6th and 19th National Congresses, respectively, occasions that will be conducive to keep this practice and strengthen exchanges on building socialism.
