Cuban Children Happy and Confident in the Future

Cuban children and adolescents in this eastern Cuban city, in Granma province, expressed their happiness of living and confidence in the future during celebrations today for International Children Day.
With expressions of joy the children affirmed their unyielding faith in the Cuban Revolution, which protects their rights and continues to make restless efforts to guarantee a better world for the new generations, who have been guided by the ideals of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, who said “children are the hope of the world.”
Mayaya Moya Cabrera, third grader at the Jose Antonio Saco elementary school, read a communiqué expressing that Cuban children are proud to grow in their socialist country, where they are able to enjoy free and high quality education.
Since January 1, 1959, said Mayaya, we have been living in peace and harmony, united by the Jose Marti Pioneer Children Organization. We are the ones in charge of preserving the goals thus far achieved and guarantee that Cuba keeps being a guiding light for the oppressed peoples of the world.
Yolennis Nuviola Peña, directive of the Young Communist League in Bayamo recalled that some 600 million kids in the world are oppressed by poverty, hunger and wars. She said that in contrast the Cuban government guarantees and prioritizes the well being of the children in the country, despite the current world economic crisis and the US economic, financial and commercial blockade.
