Cuban Youth Hold Meetings Prior Congress

Members of the Young Communist League (UJC) in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus hold Thursday assemblies, prior to the 9th Congress of the organization.

At their gatherings, the youths will take a stock of their work and problems prior to the above mentioned event on April 3-4, that will be held after these balance meetings take place in the country's 169 municipalities.

During the opening ceremony, delegates will debate youth's contribution to the Cuban socio-economic development, the country's defense and the strengthening of domestic and organizational structures.

The UJC responsibility caring student's federations, education, and political-ideological training of inexperienced generations will be also tackled in the event.

The chronogram also includes meeting in Cuban provinces of Ciego de Avila and Cienfuegos, a part of a process to be extended until March 21, when those meetings end in the capital.

The call to the 9th Congress in October exhorted firstly to action, reflection and the frank and open debate, about what to do to continue strengthening youth political avant-garde, and improving their work.
