Cuban Communist Party Central Committee first secretary Raul Castro Ruz led the 9th plenary session of the organization that held sessions yesterday, Granma newspaper reported today.
During the meeting, PCC Central Committee second secretary Jose Ramon Machado Ventura informed on the work of the Secretariat and the Central Committee supporting structure in checking and implementing the guidelines approved by the 6th Congress of that political force.
Ventura also talked about the objective of the First National Conference, carried out early 2012, the daily published in its front page.
According to the note, participants in the plenary session were based on information collected as a sample in workplaces, schools, and visited grass-roots organizations, along with a direct exchange with dozens of thousands of people.
Among the priorities, they discussed the compliance with the economy plans, contracts, financial problems, managerial system organization and the course of the labor process (a reduction of bloated posts in the state sector).
Investments, technological and constructive maintenances, export productions, and replacing imports were also on the list.
The main difficulties detected, with emphasis in the statements to the Party's work and recommendations for its solution were presented during the meeting, the text noted.
The updating and redrawing of the leading documents of the party organization and the immediate application of a group of objectives that do not require further action were also reported in the meeting.
Raul Castro's visits to China, Vietnam and Russia, which contributed to stregthen even more the historic ties that join Cuba with those three countries, were highlighted during the plenary session.
