Belarussian Deputy Minister of Health, Guenady Godovalnikov, visits Cuba this week in order to exchange experiences in cancer treatment, said diplomatic sources. Besides touring health facilities in Havana, Godovalnikov is interested in possibly supplying Havana with active substances for the production of cytostatic drugs, said the Cuban Foreign Ministry's website www.cubaminrex.cu.
The agenda includes visits to the Institute of Oncology and Radiology, Molecular Immunology Center and Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center to discuss possible transfers to Belarus of some products made by these institutions.
The Belarussian delegation is also made up by directors of the regulatory agency for drug registration, which aims to endorse the procedure to achieve greater efficiency in the registration of such products.
This would accelerate the introduction of Cuban drugs as a pentavalent vaccine and pegylated interferon in the Belarussian healthcare system.
Also a hundred pharmaceuticals produced by the 12 drugs companies in Belarus will be marketed here.
