A book on a visit by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to Vietnam 40 years ago was published today in the central province of Quang Tri, where the memorable event took place.
The Thuan Hoa Publishing House presented the 75-page book, which is illustrated with 150 photos taken by photographer Sy So, and contains details of Fidel Castro's travel in September 1973 through a newly-liberated area while the war still raged.
The captions, in Vietnamese and English, describe Fidel's impressions during his visit and his meetings with Vietnamese leaders, soldiers and people.
The Foreign Ministry, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, and local Communist Party and government authorities were preparing an event to commemorate the anniversary of Fidel's visit on Thursday.
