Cooperation Between Cuba and Angola Booming

With fraternal and reciprocal political support from their respective governments, Angola and Cuba are looking today toward a new level of cooperation over the medium to long term.

These were the sentiments expressed by Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice President of Cuba's Council of Ministers, after his meeting with Angolan Vice President Manuel Vicente during the fourth day of his visit to Luanda.

During the meeting, said Cabrisas, "we made a rapid, but concrete analysis of the course of our cooperative relations."

Both sides expressed satisfaction for the results reached in different sectors where cooperation is underway, including Public Health, Higher Education, Education, Construction, Agriculture, Energy and Water, he stated.

Cabrisas explained that discussions included medium-long range plans for a new stage in bilateral collaboration, "extending those cooperative relations still further, in accordance with the interests and priorities of the development program of this brother country."

After assessing results and differences between the last visit in 2013, that he is about to conclude tomorrow, Cabrisas told Prensa Latina that "expanded relations and defining the path to follow in coming years were the highest priority subjects during this visit."

The Cuban vice president, who arrived in this capital on Monday, expects to meet today with Angolan Transportation Minister Augusto da Silva Tomas.
