The Cuban permanent mission in the United Nations offered wide information on the history and the foreign policy of Cuba to a group of US students, who will represent Cuba in a UN model soon.
The US high school students visited the Cuban mission, and the Cuban officials gave them information about the relations between the US and Cuba and the Cuban government's priorities regarding international topics and inside the UN.
One of the exchange points was around the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US government against Cuba for more than 50 years.
In November 2012, the UN General Assembly issued its 21st condemnation in 21 consecutive years against the blockade, by 188 votes in favour and three against.
During their visit to the Cuban mission, the 25 US students received information on the case of the Cuban Five.
Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Ramón Labañino Salazar, Fernando González Llort, René González Sehwerert and Antonio Guerrero Rodríguez were privated of their freedom because of monitoring the activities of anti-Cuban groups in Miami.
