The European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Assistance, Louis Michel, arrives in Havana on Wednesday afternoon for a two-day official visit that will conclude next Friday.
According to Granma news daily, this visit will follow on from the beginning of the political dialogue between Cuba and the European Union (EU) and it will mark the formal resumption of bilateral cooperation between the Caribbean nation and the EU.
Louis Michel’s agenda in Cuba includes official talks with Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque and other officials. He will also tour areas recently hit by hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
