- Brief speech delivered in Santiago de Cuba, just before he departed to the foothills of Sierra Maestra, together with hundreds of technicians, to start the Agrarian Reform.
- Speech delivered at a farmers’ mass meeting in Guayabal de Nagua, Manzanillo, an eastern province, where he proclaimed: “We are now going to overthrow the dictatorship of hunger, poverty, ignorance and illiteracy throughout Cuba.”
- Departure from Bayamo airport, together with several Cuban and foreign journalists, to “bombard” Sierra Maestra Mountains with toys and clothes for the people living in that region.
- Arrival in the city of Guantánamo by plane. He was welcomed by a large excited and vibrant crowd along some of the city’s main arteries. He delivered a speech in front of the people gathered in February 24th Park.
- Return to Manzanillo where he addressed the people in a mass meeting.
- Fidel visits Bayamo and speaks to a gathering of people.
- Arrival in Santiago de Cuba where he visited Santa Ifigenia cemetery to pay tribute to Frank and Josué País, Pepito Tey and Renato Guitart, brave Young people from the eastern province who died in the revolutionary struggle.
- Meeting at the teachers’ college with women from Santiago de Cuba who lost their sons in the revolutionary struggle.
- Speech delivered to employees of Oil Company Shell, in which he announced salary improvement actions for employees and the construction of houses for people living in the rural areas.
- In the Hall of Lost Steps at the National Capitol Building, Fidel pays his last respects as honour guard for the martyrs of the Granma yacht, whose mortal remains were transferred there from Niquero, Oriente, for burial at the Colón Cemetery in Havana.
- Fidel participates in a plenary of the National Federation of Sugar Industry Workers and requests that the workers, without giving up their fair demands, end the strike in that sector.
- At the Colón Cemetery, he attends the burials of the martyrs of the Granma whose remains had been brought from Niquero and a wake is held in the National Capitol Building.
- Fidel’s visit to Baire on February 24th was announced in Revolución newspaper.
- Fidel is appointed Prime Minister, thus resolving the first government crisis following the triumph on January 1st.
- Speech delivered during Havana Leones Club lunch session held at Caribe Hall in Habana Hilton Hotel.
- Fidel’s inauguration as Prime Minister where he delivered a speech in which he pointed out: “What interests me is that the Revolution carries on and that people are not disappointed.”
- A visitto Revolución newspaper premises, accompanied by the then Minister of Education Armando Hart and Faustino Pérez Hernández, Minister for the Recovery of Misappropriated Assets.
- Speech delivered at the Auditorium of the National College of Architects, in which he addressed housing problems in Cuba.
