- Meeting at Revolución newspaper with Cuban intellectuals who would join Rubén Martínez Villena militia.
- Witness for the prosecution in a court set up in Ciudad Libertad to try traitor Hubert Matos. When Fidel made a statement he pointed out: “…If it (the court) acquits them, I am not concerned. History will condemn them! I am not even completely sure that Major Hubert Matos had any concept at all of what a real revolution is.”
- First Revolutionary Plenary Session of the National Federation of Sugarcane Workers, held at the Workers’ Palace Theater, where Fidel delivered a speech and said: “(In those days), everyone wanted a revolution in accordance with his thinking, that is, some wanted a false revolution, as always, and others wanted a true revolution such as we had never had.”
- Launching of the “Protect the sugarcane harvest!” slogan, in the face of sabotage threats posed by internal counterrevolution against sugar-cane plantations.
- Appearance on “Meet the Press” TV broadcast.
- At the National Bank of Cuba, meeting with Indonesian ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Alí Sastroamiddjojo, accompanied by President Osvaldo Dorticós, Foreign Affairs Minister Raúl Roa and President of the National Bank Commander Ernesto Che Guevara.
- A visit to the University of Havana, where he spoke to students and professors.
- Speech delivered at the Meeting of the Federation of Commerce Workers and Employees, held at Blanquita Theater, where he pointed out: “The upcoming Cabinet Meeting will approve law to confiscate all goods and property of those engaging in counterrevolutionary activity. Our Revolution is the culmination of the rebel revolution. Those who committed murder for eleven years first and then for seven years, intend to continue murdering Cubans. The Revolution is strong, because justice has been and will continue to be done and we shall wage our battle together with the people.”
- Armored Unit School students’ graduation ceremony, attended by Fidel, accompanied by President Osvaldo Dorticós, Minister of the Armed Forces Raúl Castro and the Head of the Army, Commander Juan Almeida. Fidel was present at the maneuvers and gave the closing address.
- Christmas Eve celebrations with coal merchants from Ciénaga de Zapata. He had dinner at agricultural worker Rogelio García’s house.
