Cuba is perfecting its strategies to halt growing electricity consumption, mainly in the capital, due to early summer temperatures.
Tatiana Amaran, National Electric Union director of Rational Use of Electricity, said if the current behavior continues, the amount of fuel planned by the state for this period will be exceeded.
As of June 8, projected figures had been exceeded by 7.6 percent,with an increase of 27,825 megawatts per hour and the use of the 1.600 tons of fuel for generation.
The only province that met its goals is Holguin, Amaran said, calling on the residential sector to use energy more rationally.
She also reiterated the need for state agencies to meet the goals set by energy boards at all levels, without affecting the production or services for the people.
