First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel said the country is working on updating its socioeconomic model with a comprehensive scientific approach to solving problems.
In remarks to national television, Diaz-Canel said that comprehensive solutions to the different situations entail the combination of proposals of policies and actions, the analysis of economic and legal aspects and the implementation of trials before turning small steps into nationwide measures.
According to Diaz-Canel, the updating process is entering its most important, complex phase because of the decisions to be made and their weight in the country's future development, seeking more economic efficiency and productivity within the socialist system.
He expressed confidence in the way socioeconomic updating is running, based on the guidelines approved in April, 2011, by the 6th Congress of the Communist Party, and highlighted the importance of the involvement and contribution of society in the process.
