Cuban anti terrorist fighter Fernando Gonzalez today thanked Spanish Citizens solidarity with his cause and the other four Cubans held in prison in the United States since 1998.
In a letter sent to Catalan Defensem Cuba group, Gonzalez stressed that despite the complex economic situation of the majority of the Spanish people, the groups of solidarity use their time, means, and energies to other things apart from earning their living. "However, they do it with a big commitment and sense of solidarity," said Gonzalez, who also thanked the report he received on the activities carried out in Catalonia for the anniversary of Cuban anti terrorist fighters imprisonment.
Gonzalez stressed in a letter that the most important thing is to thank all the friends of Defensem Cuba, and all those who support the Cuban Five cause.
Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, and Rene Gonzalez were arrested for monitoring extremist groups in Florida, and later condemned to long sentences from 15 years in prison to life imprisonment.
