US music producer Greg Landau asked today President Barack Obama to review the case against Cuban antiterrorists in United States prisons sentenced 15 years ago and return them to their homeland.
The artist, son of late filmmaker Saul Landau, said in a letter to the President that Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero and Ramon Labañino who tried to put an end to violent actions organized in Florida by Cuban exiles against the Caribbean nation.
"My father gathered abundant evidence on the activities of those groups operating with impunity in Florida with tacit support of local government officials who looked the other way before their illegal conspirators to carry out armed attacks on Cuban soil", he said in his letter.
Landau recalled the combattants were condemned in 2001 to long sentences and their excarceration would contribute to normalizad relations between Washington and Havana.
"The liberation of the three prisoners who still serve their sentence in the United States would be a sign of change in U.S. policy to Cuba and a desire to heal the wounds oponed decades ago in a World that no longer exists", he affirmed.
Finally, he wrote the Caribbean island does not pose any treta to the United States and its isolation is an example of irracional policies adopted by the White House in the past.
With his letter, the artist joins the worldwide campaign in favor of the immediate and unconditional iberation of the three fighters, processed in Miami amid a hostile environment led by paid journalists with money of the United States government.
