The Cooperation between the members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) and Iran was one of the issues presented by Cuban ambassador here, Vladimir Gonzalez, accredited sources reported today.
The diplomat also presented the paper "Geopolitics and Integration: Latin America and Iran in the seminar," organized by the embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the regional entity created by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the late President Hugo Chavez.
Academics from the Andean country, officials from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and ambassadors of Venezuela, Bolivia, and Mexico, participated in the two-day lecture, a diplomatic source said, which explained the participation of members of the Iranian accredited diplomatic staff and academics.
Several speakers talked of "the need to expand ties between the ALBA, including Latin American and Caribbean countries with nations such as Iran in search of a multipolar world, in which the defense of sovereignty and the fight to imperialist trends give way to the respective political and economic models," the ambassador said.
