Angolan Vice President Manuel Vicente asserted today that the recently deceased historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro was unforgettable to Angola, because he helped maintain independence and territorial integrity.
'Fidel is a friend, a comrade. He is an unforgettable figure to us. His memory will be always remembered in Angola,' Vicente told the news agency Prensa Latina, after signing the condolence book opened at the residency of the Cuban Ambassador to Luanda, Gisela Garcia.
We cannot forget that if Angola is free is thanks to the Cuban people and Fidel Castro's initiative, added the vice president, who was accompanied by several ministers and local media outlets.
The best way of honoring his memory is preserving his legacy and moving on at the same time, he said after assigning that task to the Cuban people. Humanity has just lost one of its best children, he wrote before on the book, in front of a picture of the Cuban leader, to whom he made a blow in silence.
For the ambassador, the presence of the Angolan vice president at her residence is a proof of the indestructible friendship between both countries and a message for the future of the bilateral relations.
