El Salvador Celebrates 51st Anniversary of Playa Giron Victory
The 51st anniversary of the Cuban people's victory in the U.S.-organized mercenary invasion of Playa Girón (Bay of Pigs), was celebrated in El Salvador with an event at the Our Americas Cultural Center in this capital.

The 51st anniversary of the Cuban people's victory in the U.S.-organized mercenary invasion of Playa Girón (Bay of Pigs), was celebrated in El Salvador with an event at the Our Americas Cultural Center in this capital.
Cuban Ambassador Pedro Pablo Prada said at the event that it is rightly stated after the first defeat of imperialism in Latin America, the peoples of the region were freer.
Prada recalled the U.S. plans against Cuba since the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959, and the courageous response from the people, who defeated the invaders in less than 72 hours.
The documentary "Muerte al Invasor" (Death to the Invader), was screened during the activity. The film is about the three days of fights against the mercenaries, heirs of landowners and former members of the dictatorship of General Fulgencio Batista.
