Chile’s President Michelle Bachelet described as positive and constructive her official talks on Wednesday with the Cuban Head of State Raul Castro Ruz.
We addressed all issues aimed at enhancing relations between Chile and Cuba, said Bachelet to reporters after presiding over, along Raul Castro, the signing of two juridical instruments to boost bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, forestry and the protection of the natural patrimony.
President Bachelet explained that during the talks they also analyzed current international challenges, the economic crisis and the need for Latin America to have a single voice, which empowers its position in the decision taking process at the world level.
The Chilean head of state said that in her talks with Raul Castro they also addressed already adopted agreements, which will report significant benefits for both countries.
Cuba boasts excellent levels in health care, vaccine production, biotechnological research and children neurology, which are well known and those are topics at the center of interest for Chile.
Michelle Bachelet announced the signing on Thursday of accords in the health field, which will allow physically impaired Chilean children to better recovery. She also said that Cuba and Chile will sign documents of understanding in the areas of sports and that in an effort to increase bilateral investment and exports entrepreneurs from both countries will hold their own encounter.
