IKE Hits Cuban National Territory
The Eye of Hurricane Ike entered Cuban National Territory Sunday evening, through the locality of Cabo Lucrecia, in eastern Holguin province, according to the latest advisory by the Cuban Weather Institute.

The Eye of Hurricane Ike entered Cuban National Territory Sunday evening, through the locality of Cabo Lucrecia, in eastern Holguin province, according to the latest advisory by the Cuban Weather Institute.
Ike is now moving within Cuba and it is expected to continue affecting other eastern territories with strong winds and heavy rains.
Before making its landfall, Ike´s winds affected the territory of Baracoa, where over 900 homes were partially or totally destroyed. No fatal victims have bee reported despite the strength of the category 4 storm.
Ike is moving towards the west, at nearly 22 km-per hour. A west to west- northwest motion is expected later tonight or Monday. The core of Ike will move over eastern Cuba later. The storms has 120-km-per hour sustained winds with higher gusts.
