Cubans Confident of Successful Visit of Benedict XVI
Cubans from different sectors Friday expressed their confidence that the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Cuba from March 26 to 28 will be as successful as the one made by his predecessor John Paul II in 1998.

Cubans from different sectors Friday expressed their confidence that the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Cuba from March 26 to 28 will be as successful as the one made by his predecessor John Paul II in 1998.
Students, retired people, and owners of private businesses in this capital told Prensa Latina that the Pope will be warmly welcomed in the Caribbean country.
¿Beyond the religious beliefs, we are an instructed and hospitable people, either in Santiago de Cuba or in Havana, the visitor will be welcome as he deserves, as it happened with John Paul II, of whose visit I keep good memories,¿ said former employee from the Foreign Trade sector Manuel Diaz.
According to Diaz, Benedict XVI will live long days due to his busy agenda and the large popular participation in the activities for his visit.
Thousands of people will attend masses and accompany him at the streets during his tours, in a calm and peaceful environment as there is no other in the world.
The Pope will officiate two masses (one in Santiago de Cuba and the other in this capital), visit the Charity Virgin Shrine of El Cobre, and meet with religious and government authorities.
For his part, Information Technology student Vladimir Gonzalez, who lives in Boyeros municipality, said that he leaned about previous messages of Benedict XVI on the need of peace in the world, and he will is sure that the Pope will ratify here those calls for peace, which are very important in these times.
Religious and government authorities have also expressed their confidence of the good results of the visit of the Vatican City's head of State.
