The global aspects in the transformation of the national economic model will be discussed today among other topics by experts attending the opening ceremony of the annual seminar of the Center for the Study of the Cuban Economy (CEEC).
The event, to be run until Friday, June 28, will evaluate the performance of economy in the island, its progresses and difficulties, the forum's coordinator Omar Everleny said.
This seminar will feature several panels in which CEEC experts, researchers from other institutes and universities, and foreign guests, will participate, who will conduct lectures on the world economy, Everleny stated.
According to the expert, the updating of the Cuban economic model, as of the Implementation of the guidelines adopted at the 6th Congress of the Communist Party will be analyzed.
The meeting will also provide an overview of the macroeconomic sectors, and the evolution of its growth.
The forum's coordinator said that several branches of the national economy, among them industry and agriculture, as well as global issues related to tax administration, control, and performance will be discussed.
Participants will also analyze the managerial exercise and the steps of Cuban companies in the last two years, the local and territorial economic development, and growth scales.
Also included are aspects of mercantile production and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in different zones and provinces, as well as the future role of foreign investment.
About 100 Cuban specialists, economists, sociologists, geographers, lawyers, journalists, experts, researchers, and guests from the business world of Chile and Brazil are expected to attend the event..
The seminar will host at the Hotel Nacional's Taganana Hall in this capital.
