Cubans Remember Ernesto Che Guevara

The people of Santiago de Cuba paid tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara today at the Bosque de los Heroes (Heroes'' Forest) bringing flowers to honor the memory of the revolutionary assassinated 46 years ago in Bolivia.

In front of the monument, to the side of the Las Americas Avenue, children, students, workers and retirees offered their feelings of admiration and gratitude to Che and his internationalist comrades in Bolivia.

This Forest was built in this eastern Cuban region six years after the death of Che and his followers, and since then, national and foreign tourists have come to the place with its aura of legend, while the people in Santiago de Cuba have a place to pay their respects.
