Cuban ambassador in Russia, Emilio Lozada, assured today that the 56 Anniversary of the Triumph of the Caribbean country'' Revolution matches with a stronger consolidation of the strategic association between the two nations.
In his speech during an evening held for the date the diplomat considered 2014 transcendental for bilateral relations.
In this period of time President Vladimir Putin visited the island, in which moment he signed 10 important cooperation documents in different spheres and the strategic association was even more consolidated between our countries, he expressed.
Lozada highlighted the special meaning of this anniversary for all Cubans as the Cuban Five anti-terrorists are already in the homeland after serving unjust sentences exceeding 15 years in US jails for trying to prevent violent actions against their country, hatched in US territory.
Gerardo Hernandez, René González, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando González were monitoring extremist groups established in US territory.
When talking to the release of the Cuban Five, as they are known worldwide, the ambassador appreciated the permanent solidarity of the people and Russian government for their liberation.
The ambassador considered unjust and immoral the sanctions imposed by Western on Russia, during his speech before about 150 guests, among government representatives, parliament, businessmen, Cuban friends and representatives of the Latin American diplomatic corp accredited here.
He reaffirmed the Cuban support to Russia in international forums and at the end emphasized the permanent friendship and solidarity of his country with the Russian government and people.
Moscow and Havana will be friends for ever, concluded the Russian deputy foreign minister.
The activity was also attended by the Vice minister of Transport, energy, Finances, and the president of the Russian Duma (legislative house), Alexei Shapshnik, government body's managers, deputies, senators and representatives of social and solidarity organizations , among them the president of teh Russia-Cuba Friendship association, Lieutenant General (r), Igor Kurennoi.
